The Phlebotomy Technician Certification program (CPT) is accredited by the Medical Career Assessments (MEDCA).
In this course students will learn how to demonstrate the various methods of Phlebotomy. These methods include the vacuum method for venous blood withdrawal, an autolet blood withdrawal for glucose levels, the proper use of a microhematocrit centrifuge, proper use of a hemoglobinometer and how to properly obtain an individual’s hemoglobin level. In addition, students will learn how to properly use a glucometer in order to obtain an individual’s glucose level, how to identify and label the parts of the most common diagnostic laboratory equipment, as well as basic skills in context of therapeutic and lab procedures.
